What Causes Dizziness And Stomach Upset While On A Generic Celexa?
I have been on Celexa brand name for many years. Worked well. Now i have changed to the generic brand. Worked ok. It has been changed in size and color. It is said that it is the exact drug. I am having side effects. Dizzy, upset stomach, tired. What is going on? If it is the same, why am I having these side effects ? Please answer !!!
I'm sorry to hear you've been having problems ever since switching from brand name to generic for Celexa.
The active ingredient in both brand name and generic medications is the same, so usually patients don't have any problems when they switch.
However, I have had patients complain about feeling different or the effect of generic drugs to be different than the brand name.
While I can't say for sure why this is, the INACTIVE ingredients of generic drugs may be different, and this may cause problems for some patients.
I would suggest you try to go back on brand name Celexa to see if your symptoms resolve; if they do, that would confirm this is the problem in your case.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr Aaron Branch, General & Family Physician
