Hi,
I have gone through your medical history carefully and understood your concerns.
Let me recapitalize your case:
- high blood sugar (at 16)
- symptoms: feel dizzy, weak to walk
- current medications:
Diamicron MR, Januvill, Metformin
If you measured blood sugar levels early in the morning (fasting), then, there are various causes including nocturnal
hypoglycemia. Perhaps blood sugar is reduced during the night, and your body is taking action to raise it. As the
glucose balance is broken (not functioning well), it ends up with high fasting blood sugar.
If I was your caring doctor would advise to keep monitoring your blood sugar levels, record the results in order to show to your doctor for changing dosage of medications you are currently taking.
Feeling dizzy and weak to walk is common among diabetics especially if their blood sugar is not stabilized (spikes and downs). Electrolytes imbalance is also to rule out by measuring blood electrolytes.
I also advise to monitor your blood pressure and record the results for further evaluation.
Hope it was of help.
Dr.Albana
