What Causes Dizziness Despite Consuming Strattera For ADHD?
My Son is on 25 mg of Strattera for ADHD. He takes one capsule orally a day. He has been on the medication for almost 1 year. He is 14 years old. He is 5 feet 2 inches tall. He is over 100 pounds. Recently, We realized that he was not taking the medication consistently (meaning 1 capsule every day). He mentioned today that for the past few weeks he has experienced pulsating and dizziness when standing up from a seated position. Does this sound like a reaction from not taking this medication consistently?
Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related doubts
I can understand your concern. Atomoxetine is known to increase blood pressure in some individuals and if he has been prescribed medicine regularly and is not taking then most probably he is developing hypotension. This hypotension is occurring probably due to withdrawal from Atomoxitine and is the probable cause of his symptoms of dizziness. Please ask his to take medicine regularly to prevent this intermittent dizziness. If his symptoms are persisting then visit his doctor for re-evaluation.
Thanks, Hope this helps you.
Take care
