General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

If I am treating physician I will prescribe simple lab examinations
a] Polysomnography
b] ECG, TSH, ESR
If this is only one time occur follow these:
a] Bedtime should be safe and comfortable
b] Avoid media exposure [unusual movies etc]
c] TV avoided prior 2 hours of sleep
d] Talk to loved ones / hug softly toy [at bed time]
e] Join online course [art of living happyness or ombw] this is very very helpful as it include [part of many processes, therapies, relaxation, any trauma, stress, on mind can be prevented / cured]. If nightmares are more than twice a week, psychiatric intervention can help.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
