What Causes Dizziness In A Child When Diagnosed With BPPV?

Hello. My daughter is 5 years old and has dizzy/sensitivity to light spells every 11 weeks or so. It was 24- 72 hours. She was diagnosed with BPPV in children but the neurologist changed it to childhood migraines. An EEG was performed and all tests came back normal. ENT dr was normal.. but one of her ears tested higher for menieres;s disease than the other ear but not so high the dr would diagnose this. Please advise

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, the benign peroxismal positional vertigo is far less common in pediatric age group, however still possible. The Epley's maneuver is best way to get possible relief in dizziness if it is BPPV condition. Do an audiometry for more guidance from your doctor, precisely in this matter.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
