Hi there, thanks for sharing your question with us at HCM.
Firstly, it is possible that the excess oil from your meal last night is making you sick. Salmon is full of good fats as well and I suspect that you had too much fats and oil in one sitting. When one eats too much oily food, symptoms include
indigestion and
nausea. It is also possible that the oil was not fresh, thus making you ill. There are a few things I would like to ask you:
1. Do you have any pre-existing health conditions?
2. Are you on any long-term medication?
3. Did you experience any pain in the upper abdomen? Immediate pain and nausea after ingesting oily / fatty foods might suggest
gallbladder problems.
My advice is that you visit your regular doctor and have him or her check your blood pressure, look at your throat and examine your abdomen just to be sure that all is well. If there is any suspicion that there may be gallbladder trouble, it would be wise to carry out an
ultrasound of the
liver and gallbladder. This investigation would require you to fast for at least 4 hours to allow good visualization of the gallbladder.
