What Causes Dizziness, Nausea And Fatigue While Having Pancreatitis?

I have suffered from bouts of pancreatitis for the past 33 years caused by stress. I have never been an alcholic I suffer from bouts of pancreatitis. I was first diagnosed 33 years ago, at the age of 31, all due to stress. I don t drink alcohol, nor do I indulge in drugs. Actually, I m a vegan and consume organic foods. Lately, I have been suffering from bouts of dizziness, nausea and fatigue, which will last from 2 to 4 days. Are these new symptoms related to the pancreatitis? Thank you.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

You have a history of pancreatitis. If you are having abdominal pain, you are losing weight, having diarrhea, then it can be due to pancreatitis as your pancreas is producing fewer enzymes needed to break down & process nutrients from the food you eat. This may cause your fatigue. Get a follow-up treatment done at the earliest.

If you are not having the above symptoms then you can visit an ENT & get physically examined. It can be due to Vertigo, vertigo may cause dizziness & nausea with a feeling of tiredness. Do not drive. Get audiometry & other tests done. You may need medications for a couple of days.

In the meantime stay well hydrated, avoid alcohol or addictions if any, take antioxidants & food rich in omega 3 fatty acid. Avoid stress & oily greasy food.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
