What Causes Dizziness, Nausea And Shaky Body Post Caffeine Intake?

Caffeine has really started to bother me in the last 6 months or so. Anything larger than 1 cup now causes shakes, dizzy, and nauseaus. Before that--no problems at all? Today I had a donut with it for breakfast and experienced severe nausea and generally unwell? Why does it bother me now more than before. And what causes it?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello, greetings! Thanks for posting your query. Caffeine is a central nervous system stimulant and thus increases alertness and reduces sleep. Consumption of 1000–1500 mg per day causes caffeinism, symptoms of which include restlessness, insomnia, headaches, and palpitations.

Try reducing the amount of caffeine consumption and taper it, fradually switching over to decaffeinated drinks. Sudden withdrawal may lead to withdrawal symptoms again.
