What Causes Dizziness Upon Arising After Taking Pioglitazone-HCL?

On sunday I began taking pioglitazone hcl 30 mg as prescribed by my doctor. This morning I noticed I felt dizzy upon rising, and have had several episodes of dizziness throughout the day, mostly when I turn my head suddenly. It is a new medication to me. Could this be causing my dizziness?
