What Causes Dizziness Upon Bending Down While On Metoprolol And Lisinipril?
my husband is taking metoprolol, lisinipril and amlodipine . they all say for treatment of high BP. he has been getting light headed frequently when exerting and bending over. could he be having too much medicine. his BP now after a bike ride is 110/65
I totally understand your concerns about your husband's health. the following points should be taken into consideration: 1- amlodipine by itself is known to cause headache as a side effect, and hence it might be the reason for it. stopping this medication and shifting your husband to another class of antihyoertensive drugs will help us make the diagnosis. 2- the fact that he has headache when bending (on positionning) it is recommended to take the blood pressure of your husband when sitting and then when standing to see if he has a decrease of his systolic blood pressure for more than 2 cmHg or the diastolic by more than 1 cmHg. if that is the case then this would be a case of orthostatic hypotension leading to headache or dizziness when positionning. and this would be due to multiple reasons such as over medicating for high blood pressure, diabetes, dehydration. testing for diabetes, doing a blood pressure charting in order to readjust medications will be helpful at this point.
best regards
