yes - I leaned forward three weeks ago to wash my hair in the shower and got dizzy and also cannot turn my head over to the right side and get dizzy. I haven t tried the left side because I am nervous and cannot stand that feeling. I have been sleeping on my back for 3 weeks with my head propped up. My back and neck are starting to get sore and I really want to sleep on my side. I have had vertigo twice before.
You have got vertigo and with the history that you have provided it is mandatory to find the cause so that a specific treatment can be started. The causes as per history could be one of the following: - Cervical spondilitis along with vertebral artery insufficiency - Problem with inner ear structure, particularly of the semicircular canals - Problems with cerebellum.
This can be diagnosed by consulting an ENT surgeon to see for vertigo clinical evaluation, examination and investigations. MRI of cervical spine or brain and mastoids will help further in diagnosis along with relevant tests of blood. All these will lead to a proper clinical diagnosis. Symptomatic treatment with Cinnarizine. Specific treatment as per the cause found will help you the most.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
