Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Been having dizziness when I stand up too quickly. When I sit down I go into dry sweats and feel like my body is going to shut down- faint, or have to go to the bathroom, major bowel movement brings it on also. Throbbing pain in the back of both my legs when I try to sleep, both hamstrings. Just been feeling off for the last 2 weeks. Had a headache the other day due to lack of sleep. I am usually pretty healthy and don t get sick. Most of this started last Friday, playing hockey twice in one day. Hockey Sun night. Weights and elliptical on Monday for 60 minutes. Twice now in the last two weeks when I have had the dry sweats when I get up after a long sleep. Might also be dehydration. If I stand up too quickly at any time I see stars for a while. I have a low heartbeat so I kind of lived with this but it seems to be getting worse.
You seem to have developed aht is called postural Hypotention. It iccurs when blood vessel walls are over thickened by deposition of fats. Since you are sctively exercising , it seems you have sinus bradycardia too that is very low heart beat. This thickening of blood vessel walls is called Atherosclerosis. Smoking is a big risk factor as is advancing age and pre existing Hypotantion. My advise is to in touch with your GP who can write a prescription for lipid lowering medications[statins] for you. Godspeed.
