What Causes Dizziness While On Cephalexin?

Take cephalexin 500MG capsules 4x per day after meals to prevent infection of left arm surgery due to a broken left humerus. When I wake from sleeping or a nap very dizzy - cannot walk for several minutes and then vey cautiously. The I longer the sleep the greater the dizziness. Stability improves, but have dull feeling in head. Thanks for your response. YYYY@YYYY

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Generally, we do not recommend using 500 mg more than 2 times. So using it 4 times may be causing the problem, though not Necessarily.

I would suggest you should talk to your Doctor to reduce the dose, and take more fluids. See you doctor if things don't improve.

I will also suggest to check your blood pressure and report if too low or high.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Mahboob Ur Rahman , General & Family Physician
