Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have lightheaded ness when I stand. It is always worse after I have eaten. My physician thought perhaps it was a side effect from a medication I was taking . oxybutin. The medicine was discontinued and I was prescribed mybetric.at first the switch helped. It is now two weeks of taking the mybetric and the lightheaded ness is returning.
Lightheaded sensation on standing may be related to a change in blood pressure on standing. This is called postural hypotension.
Your doctor can determine if this is the case by testing your blood pressure and pulse when you move from a sitting or lying position to a standing position.
There are different causes of postural hypotension. Medication is a possible cause but may also be due to dehydration, heart disease, diabetes, hormonal causes , neurological causes.
You can consider seeing your doctor to see if this condition is present.
I hope this helps
