What Causes Dizziness?

I am a type 2 diabetic, have light asthma at times and allergies under control. I'm under VERY HIGH stress due to circumstances beyond my control. I have been experiencing a lot of dizziness, it has been coming on gradually for about a year, now it is interfering with my daily activities. I have spoken with my doctor about this, twice. My blood pressure is within the normal range. The dizziness does not occur upon rising from a chair. By dizziness, I'm referring to the sensation that the room is spinning, not light headedness.

Hello,
Thanks for choosing health care magic for posting your query.
I have gone through your question in detail and I can understand what you are going through.
The common causes for dizziness is problem with inner ear (labyrinth), problems in cervical vertebra or cerebellar issues. These can be confirmed by doing an
1. ENT check up
2. X-ray cervical spine
3. MRI brain.
If all these things come normal then psychological causes can be expected. especially as you state that you are in a high stress job, then the possibility of the psychological factors to cause dizziness is more.
You will have to udertake cognitive behavioural therapy to take care of the problem. This therapy is taken by either a psychologist or a psychiatrist in which the therapist identifies impaired cognitions (Thoughts) and try to correct them. They are 15-20 min weekly session and there should be around 8-10 sessions to help you with your illness.
Hope I am able to answer your concerns.
If you have any further query, I would be glad to help you.
