Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Last week I fainted. Leading up to it I felt a bit out of sorts. I got in the car and started driving to work. I didn t get very far before I turned around and came back home. I wouldn t describe myself as feeling light headed. I ve never felt that way before. I got inside my home and laid on the couch for a few minutes. I googled carbon monoxide poisoning, but I haven t had my heat on. I got up off the couch to open the screen for some fresh air. Woke up and I was lying on the steps which are by the front door. My daughter says I sat back like I was going to sit on the steps and fell back. She says I was only out for a few seconds. When I woke up she says my lips were white and I was sweating like crazy. I had her call 911 and they took me to the hospital. When I got to the hospital the did 2 EKGs. The first 1 they said was a little off, but the second was fine. They also did 2 sets of bloodwork, which both came back fine. They also did a CAT scan of my head and that was normal. The day before my situation my daughter complained of feeling dizzy, nauseous and she had a headache. Any suggestions?
As per my clinical experience, the reversible syncope with no secondary effects may be in concern with various possible issues as: - Inadequate oxygenation - Dehydration - Underlying pyrexia sort condition with systemic inflammatory response - Early phase of cardiogenic shock which may not be reflecting upon an EKG
