What Causes Dizzy Spells Along With Sharp Pain At Temples?

I m experiencing episodes of dizziness, when it happens it starts in a wave from my feet up to my head, resulting in a foul taste in my mouth. At this point I also feel very disorientated and dizzy, I also experience a sort of blowing effect in my ear when it happens sometimes and a sharp headache in my temples afterwards. The episodes only last about a minute or two, but are increasing in frequency, especially when in bed at night. Last night I had almost hourly attacks. I have consulted my doctor who said there were no obvious signs of ear infection and my blood pressure was fine. She asked me to return for blod tests and an ECG, but there is no appointment for two weeks. In the meantime she prescribed prochlorperazine tablets.
