Thank you for your query.
would you please clarify the following points?
1) how old are you?
2) do you have diabetes,
hypertension,
hypercholesterolemia ?
3) do you have a history of
heart disease or thyroid hormone imbalances?
4) are you on any medications?
5) the dizzy spells in the past- were they associated with
tingling sensation as well?
6) did you have any palpitations or sweating associated with the episode?
7)do you smoke or consume alcohol?
Dizziness/ feeling faint is usually caused due to either reduced blood flow to the brain or reduced energy supply (glucose) to the brain or a dysfunction with vestibulo cochlear system ( a system that regulates balance and equilibrium).
Tingling on one side of the body is caused due to reduced blood flow to or increased pressure on the nerves that supply these areas.
Combining your symptoms, it seems to be
Transient ischemic attack (TIA). This mean that there is a temporary reduction or absence of blood supply to a part of your brain. It may or may not lead to a stroke.
Causes ad risk factors for this can be identified based on your responses to the above queries I requested.
Cervical (neck area)
spondylosis with nerve impingement can also cause your symptoms and can be screened for by an Xray.
Detailed examination would include and MRI of the brain and
Spinal cord and a cardiovascular workup including metabolic disorders.
I request and recommend you to see your physician at the earliest to detect and treat the above , if confirmed.
However, if your numbness increases or you have another episode with any of the symptoms I mentioned above, I advice you to visit the ER right away.
Time is vital in these cases. the sooner the problem is detected and treated, the better the prognosis. Please do not drive or go alone.
hope this helps. Please get back to us should you need any clarification.
Wish you good health
