Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Dizzy Spells Post Knee Replacement Surgery?
I woke up after an afternoon nap and I could barely swallow. It s tender to touch where Adam s apple would be and feels like there is something behind the voice box. I had knee replacement 4 weeks ago and this past week I have had some dizzy spells. This doesn t feel like a sore throat at all.
It can be laryngitis or pharyngitis however with history of recent major surgery, ETT related local inflammation may be a cause or any vocal cord inflammation should be ruled out. I suggest taking an otolaryngologist review for a detailed throat examination. Meanwhile using OTC analgesics like acetaminophen or Ibuprofen can be helpful.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
