Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I just came back from a week s vacation in Cuba August 18th. A day later I started having diarrhea, which has lasted over a week and has turned dark/black in colour. Yesterday 4 red dots appeared at the same areas on both the outer edge of my lower legs, they are about the size of a dime and they are sore to the touch and are hot to the touch. Today three more spots appeared. I m just wondering what they are and if I need to be concerned about them enough to go to the clinic. Thank you.

What Causes Dots On The Lower Legs?
Hello, Most common cause is folliculitis. Folliculitis can also be caused by inflammation from ingrown hairs, viruses, or fungi. It results in small red bumps or pimples on the skin, which you may know as razor burn or razor rash. Shaving, tight clothing, and the combination of heat and sweat are typical sources of folliculitis. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Take care Regards, Dr. AJEET SINGH
