What Causes Dripping Of Liquid From The Right Nostril While Lowering The Head?
In the last 2 days My nose has started to drip what feels like water from the right nostril It happens when I lower my head I've not had a head injury but I have had a scan 2 years ago due to head aches and dizzy spells and slurred speech. My headaches and dizzy spells are worse at the moment and now this I don't feel like I have a runny nose so I'm just wondering if it all connected and nothing to worry about
Hello, I have gone through your query and I can understand your concerns. The running nose is due to allergic causes or viral infection in most cases. But since you had history of slurring of speech and headache we have to rule out a special condition called "CSF rhinorrhea". You can try a simple test(Handkerchief test) at home to rule out CSF rhinorrhea.Discharge from the nose is blown into a handkerchief and is allowed to dry. If the discharge is CSF the handherchief will not stiffen, if the discharge is secretions from the nose the handkerchief stiffens due to the presence of mucin in the nasal secretions. I suggest you to consult an ENT specialist and get a CT scan of head to rule out CSF rhinorrhea. Hope this information helps. Regards.
