What Causes Drop In Blood Pressure And Excessive Sweating At Night?
I am having a BP of 140/90 and i am taking olmezest beta 20/50 from last 10 days, my BP is normal in day time but in the night my BP comes down to 95/65 and i get the sweating in midnight so i just want to know should i continue this medicine or i should change to other medicine due to lower blood pressure in the night because of this medicine.
Your medication contains Olmesartan and Metoprolol which decrease the blood pressure by different mechanisms and duration. In particular, Olmesartan has a long duration of action and may be contributory to your low blood pressure in the evening. What we usually do is adjust the dose depending on your blood pressure levels. You may have been on blood pressure control due to correct diet and exercise that is why you are already having lower blood pressure levels with the present dose. And I recommend a follow up with your doctor for proper dose adjustment to avoid low blood pressures.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Daryl Derick B. Dizon, General & Family Physician
