What Causes Drowsiness While Having HIV And Encephalopathy?

My partner has HIV with encephalopathy . He was diagnoised in Feb 2010 and was concidered terminal with 30-45 days to live. Happy to say he is still alive and no longer concidered terminal. His last blood work shows a CD4 count of 530 and vial load of 116. recently he is sleeping alot. does thid have any relationship to his current status. We have been together 12 years and I remain neg. for HIV

Cd4 more than 500 is good sign. Your viral load is also very low. So its definitely not ghe terminal stage disease. Drowsiness is not due to hiv. Probably may be due to some medication he is given. Do regular CD4 count.
