What Causes Drowsiness While On Eliwel And Neurica?
hello doctor i am 81 years old i had hipjoint replacement last 5 days back dr has priscribed me eliwel 10 and neurica m-75 l started takeing it last night . i had good sleep but in morning still lot of drousenes i feel to sleep . but doctor has suggested me not to sleep in morning what to do??
Eliwel is a tricyclic antidepressant drug used for symptoms of depression, neuropathic pain and migraine etc. Neurica is also used for neurogenic pain symptoms. Definitely, Eliwel can cause symptoms of drowsiness and sleepiness. Similarly, Neurica can also cause symptoms of dizziness as well as of sedation. Hence, in your case, the symptoms may be definitely due to one or both of these drugs.
Fortunately, these symptoms are usually self limiting and will go of their own within some time without any specific treatment. Still, if the symptoms are more agonizing or persist for a long time, you are advised to see your doctor, who may reduce your dose or change the drug, if required.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
