Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I got a red rash 2 weeks ago and got a reaction from calamine lotion which i placed on it. Ive seen a doctor now and the tiny rash is gone but my red ones have now turned brown. They are all over my body except my face.. im concerned that these marks will not go away... will they disappear with the allergy cream? (Aqu/clobet compounded). The marks are also very dry and starting to peel
As per your query you have symptoms of dry brown patches on the face which seems to be due to contact dermatitis.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you take a proper course of antihistamine drug along with a short course of oral corticosteroids after proper prescription. Exfoliate your skin once in a week to remove the dead skin. Drink plenty of water. Wash face with a face wash containing salicylic acid twice a day and apply a cream containing azelaic acid. If the condition doesn't get better in a month then consult dermatologist again for proper diagnosis and to rule out any underlying condition. The doctor may prescribe isotretinoin, steroid ointment or antibiotics course.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
