What Causes Dry, Burning Face After Using Linemett?
Good afternoon sir,i had consulted one doctor before one week for acne problem.he said it is acne vulgaris and prescribed following medicines Linemett 333 Vitency Ap gel Peroduo gel Elacne face wash After using just week...my face became dry and burning sensation.he said not to apply cold cream too..plz give me solution
Your symptoms of dryness and burning of face seem to be hypersensitivity reaction to Linemett. Linemett is a tetracycline class antibiotic. Please stop using Linemett and any other topical agents. For burning, you can apply calamine lotion over face. You can apply cold cream to decrease dryness. Drink plenty of water. Please avoid spicy and fatty foods. For acne vulgaris, topical retinoid cream like adapalene gel can be used once daily. It may cause skin irritation initially but over a period of time, irritation will be gone.
Topical antibiotic cream like clindamycin. Minocycline 4% foam wash can be used or benzoyl peroxide can be used once or twice daily. Oral isotretinoin 25- 50 mg/day for 4 weeks is recommended. You can stop Linemett and can start tab. Azithromycin 250 mg twice daily for 5 days. Then a gap of 2 weeks then repeat Azithromycin.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
