What Causes Dry Cough Along With Sore Throat And Fever?

Hello...I ve had a cough for a month a little bit of a runny nose, stuffed up it started with a sore throat but that went away. I went to my Dr the other day as I never get sick she said my lungs were clear that it was mucus on my bronchi and gave me a in haler and a pill to stop my cough as I have a very deep dry cough especially in the evening and some throughout the day. will the in haler make my throat sore? as I work up with a very achey body and sore throat and slight fever, I feel so sore and tired could this be the flu?

Hi,

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of dry cough along with sore throat and fever which seems to be due to chest infection/ chronic upper respiratory tract infection.

Need not to worry. I would suggest you to do warm saline gargles. You should visit ENT specialist once and get it examined. You should get paranasal sinus x-ray done along with throat swab test and blood tests and start treatment after proper diagnosis.

Take proper course of antibiotics. No you can take inhaler as it will not cause any soreness. Avoid oily and sharp food. Drink plenty of fluids. Apply mist humidifiers in room. Avoid intake of cold carbonated beverages

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
