What Causes Dry Cough And Congestion While Treating Kidney Stones?
Hi I have a dry cough along with some chest congestion for about three days. Cough medication and drops do very little. I'm also very tired. When I cough it irritates my throat as well as a pain in what feels like my left kidney. I know have stones on both kidneys. Could this be s bad cold, or kidney problem?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have dry cough and congestion while treating kidney stones which seems to be due to chest infection/ chronic upper respiratory tract infection , allergic reaction or side effects of medicine . The symptoms like congestion can also occur due to serious kidney problem , so consult your nephrologist and discuss the condition. I would suggest you to do warm saline gargles. You shoukd take cough expectorants. You should take antibiotic Levofloxacin in combination with antiallergic medication. Visit ENT specialist once and get it examined. You should get chest X-ray done and start treatment after proper diagnosis have been made. Avoid oily and sharp food. Drink plenty of fluids and take steam .
Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
