General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

If your symptoms have been there for less then a week very likely you are having a viral infection also called common cold. It is generally self-limiting and should start to feel better soon.

Meanwhile, you can continue the cough medications if you think they are helping, you can take ibuprofen for the chills and the pain and make sure you drink plenty of fluids and rest well.

If symptoms are longer then a week or you had a fever for longer than 5 days or there is any worsening you will need to see your doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
