Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
For weeks now, my eyelids had been very dry. I do use a mild cleanser on my face/eyes. I have been using Vaseline to relieve the dryness. However, it has continued for some time now. I have tried not using eye makeup, but that did not make a difference. I'm wondering if there is some underlying cause. I have experienced this previously but it went away using Vaseline. It has been several weeks. Please advise. Carol
Hello and thank you for your question. The eyelids are a very sensitive area of skin. Try not washing them with cleanser, just with plain water. Also try using a non-petroleum based hypoallergenic lotion instead of the Vaseline to add moisture to your face and eyelids. Good luck to you and I hope this problem resolves soon. If not, it may be helpful to see a dermatologist.
