What Causes Dry Facial Flushing, stomach Cramps And Diarrhoea?

Hi, I have been having dry facial flushing everyday for the last 6 months. Every episode lasts for 1-3 hours. I have also been having stomach cramps and diarrhea. And I have been feeling nauseous. I have been to the doctor and they have run tests and they where all in normal range. The tests they took where Catecholamines and 5-hiaa, 24h urine test, estrogen and progesterone. I m eating amitriptylin, duloxetine and lyrica for a previous problem with nerve pain. I was also eating these medications during the tests. What can be the causes of my problems? And what should I ask my doctor to do next?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query your have symptoms of dry facial flushing, stomach cramps and diarrhoea which seems to be due to acute gastroenteritis which seems to be due to viral infection and electrolyte imbalance in body.

Need not to worry. I would suggest you

- Start treatment with combination of fluoroquinolones and ornidazole.

- Avoid taking any sharp and spicy food.

- Avoid large intake of food at a time and take small and frequent meals.

- Drink plenty of fluids to rehydrate.

- Take banana on daily basis and light food.

- Take Ibuprofen along with proton pump inhibitors as well.

if symptoms keeps on persisting visit general physician once and get it examined. You should go for blood tests as well and start treatment after proper examination. Doctor may refer you to gastroenterologist as well.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
