What Causes Dry, Itchy Flaky Area Around Genital Area Spreading Around The Anus?

Hello, I have developed dry, itchy, flaky skin around my genital area (inner upper thigh area) on both legs and I ve recently noticed that I am also starting to develop the same symptoms around the area of my anus. I haven t taken or applied any medication and I have been showering twice a day. Is this something I should worry about?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
Thanks for the concern. The most common cause of dry itchy skin on inner side of thigh is Psoriasis. For itching you can take antihistaminics drugs like chloroheniramine maleate.
For psoriasis you can start Topical application of corticosteroid, Retinoids, vitamin D analogue or phototherapy like UV light, PUVA And also you can take immunosuppresant drug like cycloserine, methotrexate. But it will take time to get cure. So immediately consult your dermatologist and start treatment accordingly.
Take care.
