Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I was diagnosed with PBC in 2006. No real problems until this past month and have what I consider a very dry mouth, and a funny little cough. Am just wondering if I could be developing another autoimmune or if it is just a new PBC symptom. Thank you
As per your query you have symptom of dry mouth and cough which seems more likely due to autoimmune causes as in PBC all bile ducts secretions gets blocked eventually and dry eyes, mouth could be a symptom. Need not to worry,
I would suggest you to visit your general physician once and get it examined completely and go for saliva and normal blood count tests and start treatment accordingly as per causation. Till then
- Do warm saline gargles.
- Chew on sugar free candies.
- Drink plenty of water.
- Avoid intake of fried and spicy food.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Harry Maheshwari
