What Causes Dry Mouth While On Wellbutrin?
I have dry mouth. I Have taken 450 mg daily am Wellbutrin for 20 years. Started about 4 months ago on adderall 10 mg. 10 am & 2 pm. I blamed the adderall, then I got a really bad flu where I did not take any meds or drink any coffee for 3 days and dry mouth went away. On the 4th day I just took the Wellbutrin and dry mouth started again. 5th day added coffee back into morning and adderall. Continued dry mouth. Symptoms are worse after 3pm. Is it possible there is a buildup of Wellbutrin in my system that is causing the dry mouth?

Dry mouth or Xerostomia can occur due to a number of causes and the medicines that you are taking (that is Wellbutrin and Adderall) both can cause dry mouth.
Other common causes of dry mouth can be severe dehydration, salivary gland dysfunction, nerve damage supplying salivary glands, oral infections like thrush, Sjogren syndrome, etcetera.
You should consult your Physician and get yourself checked and the medicine doses can be titrated accordingly.
-For dry mouth, chew sugarfree chewing gums.
-Drink plenty of water.
-Avoid regular mouthwash and use specialized mouthwash like Biotene that is formulated for dry mouth.
-You can also instil artificial saliva drops.
-Suck tart candies like Lemon drops as it also stimulates saliva flow.
