good evening ... I have a problem with dry peeling spots on hands and feet. not on toes or fingers just on palms and bottoms of feet...they look as if I had a dried blister no fluid. the problem on my palms seems to appear hours to days after doing dishes or washing my car, when the skin dries out. without a picture to show you what do you think...no itching as if I had athlete foot creams seem to moisten after I peal the dry skin off watching not to peel beyond into the quick or healthy unaffected areas.... thank you in advance, Hammer ps after proceeding with this I have no insurance or credit cards for ,if you cannot help me I will understand
This is a type of eczema that causes tiny blisters in fingers, palms and rarely in soles of the feet. This condition can occur more commonly in winter when the skin is very dry due to loss of moisture. It can also occur due to frequent hand washing.
This is a form of dermatitis or inflammation of the skin that occurs due to dryness of skin. Apply generous amount of moisturiser everyday over the affected area. Repeat once again before going to bed. These symptoms will reduce. In case severe itching, mild steroid cream such as hydrocortisone can be used.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General & Family Physician
