What Causes Dry Skin On Upper Buttocks?

I just noticed very dry skin at the top of my buttcrack (between butt cheeks) near the end tip of the spine/backbone, my question is can this be simply a case of sitting too long that cause dryness? I having been sitting in a funny angle to to lower back pain (now gone) recently for hours.

Hi,

A few causes of dryness of skin between the buttocks or at the tip of the tail bone are prolonged sitting, dehydration or less intake of water, exposure to severe cold, any minor trauma or any anal conditions like fissure and hemorrhoids. However, in your case it's most probably due to prolonged sitting.

Avoid sitting for more than an hour. Just get up or take a walk for 2-3 minutes. Drink more water of at least 15 glasses a day. Apply moisturizer immediately after bath. Avoid scratching or rubbing that area.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
