Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
very suddenly yesterday I felt a dryness and light pain in my throat like usual when I am about to get a cold. But after a few hours, my glands started to swell under my jaw and it hurt to swallow. Before going to bed I started feeling a very painful throbbing my head that went down to my neck and back. I don t know what is wrong with me.
Dryness and pain in throat seems to be due to salivary gland swelling and infection and upper respiratory tract infection. I would suggest you to take tablet Sinarest at for three days along with Cetrizine at night time. For relief of throat pain take Calpol. Do warm saline gargles. Avoid hot, sharp and spicy foods. Take luke warm water with turmeric dissolved in it. Your symptoms will start resolving, if symptoms keeps on persisting visit ENT specialist once and get it examined. Start proper antibiotic course after thorough examination. Avoid cold carbonated beverages.
Best wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
