What Causes Dryness Of Clitoris While On Testosterone?
Hi, I am a transgender guy on testosterone. I just noticed that on my clitoris, the part that is usually still in my body (that you have to pull the skin back to see) has what looks like dry skin. I was worried it was something else and it wasn t, but now I m seeing that a fungal infection is a possibility. But the thing is, there is no irritation and that is the only area that has anything on it. I have not had intercourse for a few weeks. It s strange that that s the only area. Could it be a fungal infection? Or could it be a side affect of my clitoris growing?
Since you are on testosterone, it is normal for the skin of the clitoris to get dry. Take care of your hygiene. Take regular showers and wear loose fitting cotton clothes. Keep your private area dry. Fungal infection gets triggered if the area is warm and moist. Get clinically examined in the ER. If its fungal infection you will be treated with a course anti-fungals (Fluconazole) orally. You can also opt for a follow up clinical examination by your treating surgeon. You can apply ointment / cream Clotrimazole in the area affected for relieve.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
