What Causes Dull Headache, Sharp Ear Pain, Decreased Hearing, Puffy Face And Swollen Tonsil?

Hi, my names tiffany. My right ear has been bothering me all day, I have had a dull headache, sharp pains in my ear occasionally, my hearing decreased, the right side of my face feels puffy and my right tonsil is swollen. I don't know if its just an Ear infection or something different.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It is possible that you have a viral illness. This would cause the sore throat, facial discomfort (due to sinus involvement), headache and pain in the ears.

An ear infection may not be present, the discomfort may be part of the viral illness. You can consider taking symptomatic medication for the next few days, if the pain does not resolve, then you can visit your doctor.

Symptomatic treatment would rest, fluids, paracetamol, antihistamine/decongestant combination.

I hope this helps
