Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
After a few minutes of resting with my eyes closed, I noticed a large bright flash that visibly diminished in size. I had a headache before and after the flash. The headache did not increase during the flash. I have experienced dull headaches, a stuffy nose, and ear pain over the last couple of weeks and naturally assumed the symptoms were related. The flash worries me. Should I be alarmed?
* The flash is normal physiologic sensation during the phase of upper respiratory tract infection due to underlying congestion of the sinuses of the forehead and sphenoid with optic nerve sensations.
* There is nothing to worry about, just focus on maintaining proper hydration with plenty of liquids and continue current medications.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
