What Causes Dull Pain Below The Rib Cage Upon Standing?
I have a dull pain on my right side about one to two inches below my rib cage that only occurs when I m standing. It takes about an hour of standing to show up and goes away when sitting or lying down. About four nights ago, while urinating, I thought I saw something small and solid come out toward the end of the stream. I picked it up with a piece of toilet paper and it looked like it could be a small piece of brown clotted blood, kind of like what you would see in a handkerchief the next morning after having blood in the nose from a cold the night before . That s the only time I have seen a solid in my urine, and I m not sure it was in my urine stream in the first place. It could have been a scab from scratches on my arm I experienced while recently playing with my daughter s dog and that just fell off at that time, although it wasn t as dry as one would expect a scab to be. The pain isn t severe, and I m unable to locate or increase the discomfort with finger pressure to the area. I have had no recent physical strain that would bring this on.

IN the given situation of Yours, You seem to suffer from-Right pelvic Renal Stone.The solid piece of brown clot,could be from irritating right pelvic renal stone,which causes pain while standing and with no pain while lying down.
CT abdomen with KUB study would resolve the cause of this pain under right ribs.Other causes need to be ruled out,like Gall stones,but clot while urination would not be there, and hence out of consideration.
This plan would reduce your dilemma from dull pain under right rib cage.
