What Causes Dull Pain In Left Side Of Body While Suffering From Kidney Disease?
Dull ache in my left side. I only have one kidney (left side) I have been diagnosed with stage 4 kidney disease. Dr. s have ran all kinds of test and can not find a thing wrong. I take pain meds. every 24 hrs. Seems like it is 24 hrs on the dot I have to take a pain pill. This is so strange but why can t they find what is causing the pain. I thought maybe it could be the new blood pressure meds. they put me on.

Hello,
End stage renal disease is a serious problem. If you have pain in the left kidney region, it may be due to the following:
1) Perirenal abscess or pus around the kidney
2) Stone
3) Blood clot leading to ureteral obstruction
4) Stricture of ureter
5) Previous surgery
6) Radiation therapy
7) Kidney tumors
8) Trauma to kidney
9) Acute pyelonephritis or acute infection of kidney
For this, in person clinical examination and ultrasound imaging are very essential to arrive at a specific diagnosis. Pain can't be due to blood pressure medicines.
If pain is severe you can take tab. Tramadol or tab. Acetaminophen. please avoid NSAIDs as they lead to further kidney impairment.
