Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Dull Pain On The Right Side Of The Lower Abdomen?
I am having a dull pain in my right side of my lower abdomen. I have had my appendix out. Last year i was diagnosed with diverticulitis and a perforated colon. I did not need a colostomy. I was on a low residue diet for 6 weeks. I have been fine until recently when I started to have this dull pain
The appendix is out and perforated colon suggests right side colon infection a time before. it may be typhoid, cholera, e.coli etc. Hyper level of acid also causes a perforation in the colon.
After healing of perforation, dull pain again started means you may have consumed something much spicy or junk food not suitable for your bowel. So avoid those foods and have plenty of vegetable in the diet.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Nirav Nimavat, General & Family Physician
