What Causes Dull Pain With Burning Sensation On Neck?

dull achey pain on the right side of my neck. tends to feel better with slight pressure, hand or ice bag. almost feels like dull burning sensation. 1 to 10 feels like a 3. right now just an annoyance. do use chewing tobacco pouches. have noticed a few very small skin tags in same area

Hi Dear ,

As per your query you have dull pain with burning sensation on neck . Well it is very important to find out the exact cause of neck pain and correct it . Neck pain can occur due to may reasons like muscle strains , nerve compression , Injuries ,diseases, cervical spondolysis and Certain diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis . I would suggest you to consult orthopedic surgeon for proper diagnosis . Doctor will examine physically , ask you to do certain movements and may order CT scan . Doctor may prescribe muscle relaxant and may recommend specific exercises . For now do stretching exercises and start physical therapy of neck . I would suggest you to apply ice pack to neck , take proper rest and take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain .
