What Causes Duodenal Ulcer?

My wife at India, who is 52 years old underwent an Endoscopy as prescribed by her physician. The test report suggests that she has Linear Duodenal Ulcer. She is yet to meet her physician with the report. In the meantime, I would like to know from you how serious is this problem and how long does it take to heal through medicines. Regards,

Hello dear
I understand your concern
Duodenal ulcer is not serious disease take proper treatment under the advice of the gastroenterologist and it will heal in the 6-8 week.
Following are the most common causes:
H. pylori infection, chronic NSAID(analgesic) drug use, increase the acidity, stress, anxiety being the most common causes.
If treatment will not taken properly then ulcer may penetrate deeply leading to complications.
Take pump inhibitors like pantoprazole or rabeprazole
Anti H. Pylori regimen may have to be taken after urea breath test or endoscopy.
Take more yogurt and buttermilk
Avoid spicy/oily and fatty food.
Avoid stress, doe regualr exercise and meditation
