Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am allergic to dust & often I sneeze a lot, after that I feel like cold is catching me. I feel heaviness in the back portion of my head and I also feel drowsy. last year I felt the same but it was very bad & after I did my CT scan the doctor told me its nothing but sinus.
Could you please tell me what precautions should I take to avoid this happening again & again?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of dust allergy and sinus which can leads to sinusitis. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper examination . Doctor may order blood tests and X-ray of sinuses to check extent of infection and can start treatment accordingly. You should avoid exposure to allergen and take staem inhalation as well. If it's due to viral infection then it will go away in few days without any treatment. If it's bacterial then doctor will prescribe antibiotic course . For now take medication such as acetaminophen and ibuprofen to ease pain and reduce fever , gargling with warm salt water and using throat lozenges.
Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
