Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi. I had left salpingectomy last may 2016 due to ectopic pregnancy. Before the surgery, I have had episodes of severe dysmenorrhea. But after the surgery it seemed to happen every month. And not worse is the pain is not only in the hypogastric region but on the left side where fallopian tube was cut. Is this normal? Should i be worried?
Dysmenorrhea is not likely to be due to salpingectomy. Dysmenorrhea is more likely to be due to spasms in uterus during menstruation. I suggest you to take NSAID like Mafenemic acid to control the pain during menstruation.
If the pain is not relieved by NSAID then I suggest you to consult your gynecologist.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Shailja Puri,
