below is a summary of what I have been dealing with from my doctor. I was going to take it to my insurance company. I have no idea where to go now my insurance company states only one weight loss surgery a lifetime and we are trying to convince them to allow the bypass. I have no idea what I can eat. I have problems with almost everything. I am tired of soup. I refuse to believe my life is stuck eating soup if I don t want to throw up or be very uncomfortable. please help!! Kezia Here is a summary: Gastric sleeve with hiatal hernia repair in 2015. Has been experiencing post op gastric sleeve complications including chronic dysphagia, reflux and vomiting of most solid foods since having surgery in 2015.  She underwent an EGD with dilation in June 2016. She was noted to have findings consistent with esophageal motility disorder, grade B esophagitis, and a Schatzki s ring that was dilated.  She did not appreciate a significant improvement in her symptoms after dilation. She then underwent an upper GI that demonstrated a patulous esophagus with significant dysmotility. The sleeve itself was unremarkable demonstrating no evidence of stricture or angulation. She now has had esophageal manometry.  The results were discussed with gastroenterology as well as thoracic surgery. She has an extremely dilated esophagus, but there is no evidence for a hypertensive lower esophageal sphincter to suggest achalasia. This picture may simply be related to the high pressure zone created in the sleeve gastrectomy, though her appearance is more dramatic than typically seen. In any case, all parties believe it is reasonably likely that gastric bypass would improve and possibly resolve her symptoms.
