What Causes Dysphagia With A Sore Throat And Dryness?

Hi I am a 23 y/o man and i have quit smoking for about 3 weeks now. I have however had a feeling like i have a lump inside my throat for about a month now makes me feel like gagging sometimes). I have no difficulty eating or breathing. no weight loss. i think i can feel like a pea sized lymph under the right side of my jaw. I have been to two doctors (one two weeks ago and one yesterday) the first doctor said i have spasm due to stress from uni and the second said i have pharyngitis and just recomended betadine gargle. the second doctor also referred me to get a barium swallow done to put my mind at ease. I honestly just want to get rid of it. yesterday i started getting a bit of a sore throat too (very minor and may have nothing to do with it). I also feel like i have a dry mouth all the time even though i drink alot of water. please any help would be greatly appreciated. yours sincerely A

Hello,

Acute pharyngitis, acid reflux, neuro muscular dysfunction may cause dysphagia. Use of anti histamines may cause dryness of mouth.Get it done laryngoscopy and endoscopy. Barium swallow may gives a clue. Use tablet Pantaprazole before breakfast for one week. If symptoms not improved please consult with your physician / gastroenterologist, he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
