What Causes Dyspnea, Stomach Pain And Excessive Gas In An Elderly Woman?

My 86 year old mother had a TIA a week ago. She came out of it fine, went to the hospital and all bloodwork was great. Her BP is being monitored daily at the assisted living where she lives. I just spoke to her and she is short of breath and has a tummy ache and lots of gas. Could this be related, is it cause for concern?

Oncologist 's  Response
Hello,

Experts believe that a major cause of abnormal bloating is excessive eating and air swallowing, known as aerophagia.

Other causes of bloating include inflammatory bowel diseases such as Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, irritable bowel syndrome, diabetes, functional dyspepsia or transient constipation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
